'Fiscal' Conservatism Needs 'Social' Conservatism

Progressives are not rational people or educated, they are indoctrinated and compliant in their ignorance. There is no more despicable, unwashed , unlearned masses than those claiming the mantle of progressive. When liberal became a dirty word and a slur, those that demeaned the term by their actions changed their calling to a progressive. The only hope for America and the free world is social and fiscal conservationism, progressive ideals will make America another fiscal Greece shortly with a populatoin aligned more with Sodom and Gomorrah than the Christian values this nation was founded on.

At the outset (beginning of the last century), Progressives proudly proclaimed themselves as such- until they managed to demonstrate in what direction there "progress" was taking us. They then went underground and started co-opting the liberal side of politics, spending nearly 100 years undermining the electorate through the education system. After turning the connotation liberal into a negative they returned to the label progressive, having whitewashed the stain of the word away.

I agree with you 100% about the importance of social conservatism for rebuilding the society of the US and the world. But fiscal conservatism seems, at least in my admittedly biased opinion, to lack compassion towards those who do not have a lot of money or are not able to earn very much :-)

Perhaps you have a point about compassion, then again in my experience talking about compassion and acting compassionate are two very different things and progressives talk the talk, and never walk the walk when it comes to their fellow man.

Progressives are all about elitism, always have been, always will be, perception is not reality in the case of compassion when it comes to conservatives.

Quit allowing progressives to define the narrative

When you state that progressives are all about elitism, do you refer to progressive leaders or more ordinary people who hold progressive opinions? I am not closely acquainted with any progressive elites.

My father (a retired sheet metal worker) and mother (a teacher's aide) are socially conservative and fiscally liberal, and I took most of my political opinions from them.
For some years now, we have been told about a major division within American conservatism: fiscal conservatives vs. social conservatives.

This division is hurting conservatism and hurting America -- because the survival of American values depends on both fiscal and social conservatism. Furthermore, the division is logically and morally untenable. A conservative conserves all American values, not just economic ones.

By "social conservatism," I am referring to the second and third components of what I call the American Trinity -- liberty, "In God We Trust" and "E Pluribus Unum."

It is worth noting that a similar bifurcation does not exist on the left. One...
