In response to:

Why Did Mitt Romney Lose?

Romney lost because he is a Mormon and Ryan is a Catholic and there is a small percentage of Protestants that will not vote for either religion even if it kills them. All other reasons are just excuses but no matter how much you dig that will be the underlying cause. Republicans eat their own. Democrats will vote for anything with a D behind it but Every single Republican has some stupid criteria and if you don't fit it they take their ball and go home.

I agree. Most Protestants don't think this way, but I always thought Romney's Mormanism would hurt him at the margins and in a close election the margins matter. Many Protestants still view Mormanism as a cult rather than a different denomination within Christianity. This aversion is similar with Catholicism but probably to a much lesser extent than with Mormanism. Most orthidox Protistants and Evangelicals still went to the polls, many holding their nose, and cast their votes for Romney. More than a few stayed home. This especially hurt him with the black Christian vote, most of which votes Dem anyway but voted for McCain and Bush in larger numbers than for Romney.

100% correct!

The far right minority who care only about social issues talk about big brother, but the truth is they want to BE Big Brother. They stayed home in droves and now the whole country will suffer from their "cut off their nose to spite their faces" actions.

You do realize Biden is Catholic?

Obama "may" be Protestant but really is he just a member of a black church that is concerned with race not religion..
Anderpool Wrote: Nov 08, 2012 1:18 PM
Of course I know Biden is Catholic. Democrats have no problem electing catholics. I said "Republicans" will not elect a Mormon or Catholic.

No you didn't say that. Go back and read what you wrote.

Of course, virtually every American who follows politics closely will posit an explanation for why Mitt Romney came up short in 2012. But Sean Trende’s analysis over at Real Clear Politics seems to be the most insightful -- and plausible. Take a look at the following chart embedded in his must-read article:

Conventional wisdom tells us that Republicans lost because they failed to reach out to Hispanics, African-Americans and young people. And to a certain extent that is
