Here's the typical Republican response about giving out flood insurance money to home-owners; "yeah, but not all of the money goes to millionaires with million dollar homes." PRICELESS!!!!
Here's a partial list of so called 'small government, free market' Republicans that voted to send taxpayer's monies to millionaires with million dollar beach front homes. John Boehnor(R) Eric Cantor(R) Michele Bachmann(R) Paul Ryan(R) Allen West(R) Daryl Issa(R) Louis Gohmert(R) Jeb Hensarling(R) Dan Burton(R) Michael Grimm(R) Steve King(R) Duncan Hunter(R) Spencer Bachus(R) Votes gleaned from http://www.govtrack.us/congress/vote.xpd?vote=h2011-562 If this country has oodles of money to send to millionaires with million dollar beach front properties, then why worry about the debt?
This Republican-controlled Congress voted to shore up the National Flood Insurance Program to the tune of 10 billion dollars. It's nothing but a redistribution of wealth from America's taxpayer's to millionaires with million dollar beachfront homes. This program is godless and immoral.

You Republicans have a poor memory about the 2008 presidential campaign, Iraq and Afghanistan. Here's the scoop. Take a look at the campaign debate between Obama and McCain here; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIPYawTHHaU From Obama's 2008 web site "Barack Obama will work with his military commanders to responsibly end the war in Iraq. Obama will refocus our resources on al Qaeda in Afghanistan and finish the fight with the terrorists who attacked us on 9/11." at http://www.barackobama.com/issues/index_campaign.php He did exactly just that to the consternation of you and the Republican Party.

I urge everyone to get Alan Greenspan's book 'Age of Turbulence' from your local library. Let's explore Reagan's fiscal policy. On page 102, of the aforementioned book, we have the following tidbit of Greenspan's thoughts at the end of 1988. "The economic indicators, meanwhile, were far from encouraging. Huge government deficits under Reagan had caused the national debt to the public to almost triple, from just under $700 billion at the start of his presidency to more than $2 trillion at the end of fiscal year 1988. The dollar was falling, and people were worried about America losing its competitive edge."
The economy was getting better until the Republicans took over the House of Representatives in January of 2011 and spooked the markets with their budget games. Stock market performance for Obama's first two years versus this Republican-controlled Congress. -------------DJIA---NASDAQ------S&P500 01/20/09----7,949-----1,441---------805 01/20/11---11,823-----2,764-------1,280 01/20/12---12,514-----2,737-------1,298 First two years of Obama. DJIA +49%, NASDAQ +91%, S&P500 +60%. Please take a look at the poor performance of the stock market under this Republican-controlled Congress. DJIA +5%, NASDAQ -1%, S&P500 +1%. As a retired investor, I think the Republicans suck.
