Actually, if you read my post, I did say: "support the DEVELOPMENT ... of artificial wombs", so that does in fact mean that they do not currently exist.

If a politician ran on the position of launching an Apollo / Manhattan level project to develop artificial wombs, would you support that politician? I AM fully aware that artificial wombs do not exist today (I am not actually stupid). However humanity has, at various points in history: Built cities, split the atom, developed global telecommunication networks, sequenced the human genome, put men on the moon, landed probes on Mars, sent probes to the ends of the solar system, etc. So we CAN actually develop artificial wombs with the right commitment. So where are the TRUE maverick politicians? Or is it just easier to keep going over the same ground to get re-elected?

Okay, what then do you think we should do in the meantime? Criminalize abortion? The Supreme Court says no. Overturn Roe v Wade? Three Republican Presidents could (or would) not appoint enough conservative judges to do that. Amend the Constitution? Good luck getting 2/3 of BOTH houses of Congress, as well as 38 state legislatures to go for that (only one attempt to amend the Constitution even made it to the floor, the rest died in committee). We ARE ignoring the disease now. We have been doing the same thing for 40 years and nothing has changed. We need to try something different.
