Thinking one's philosophy stemmed from rationality and it actually being rational are not the same thing. You clearly have a problem with rationality, at multiple levels. Or would you care to debate the problems caused by religious-based philosophies? Dark Ages, Inquisition, human sacrifice, jihad? What all of those things have in common with Marx, Lenin, Robbespierre et al (and not at all with Rand, Aristotle, Locke et al) is that they thought they were right because "it was just said so." You might want to check out Jefferson's quote about the value of reason. The US is THE nation of the Enlightenment.
