What more lies from both the President and the retired Secretary of State? Say it isn't so? "It is of great importance to set a resolution, not to be shaken, never to tell an untruth. There is no vice so mean, so pitiful, so contemptible; and he who permits himself to tell a lie once, finds it much easier to do it a second and a third time, till at length it becomes habitual; he tells lies without attending to it, and truths without the world's believing him. This falsehood of the tongue leads to that of the heart, and in time depraves all its good disposition." --Thomas Jefferson, letter to Peter Carr, 1785
This is the same PA State Attorney General that refused to defend the PA Traditional Marriage Law. http://www.wtae.com/news/local/pennsylvania-attorney-general-kathleen-kane-wont-defend-gay-marriage-ban/20937588 First she won't do her job and now she stops an investigation with dirty politicians on tape taking money and financial gifts and says that it's racism. Sounds like a AG Holder wanna be.
One of the best posts that I've seen on why income re-distribution by government shouldn't be done, not to mention that the Constitution doesn't allow it and wanting what others have is a sin according to the Ninth Commandment.
"and many other areas which they feel perfectly qualified to regulate and control." The key word here is "feel". Liberals and progressives use emotions to motivate similarly associated individuals. I hear so many say we need more women in politics. Okay I'll agree with that if those women happen to engage their brains instead of their emotions to think through policy decisions as well as follow the Constitution. I also agree with others who have said here that all of this discussion about what caliber or the difference between a magazine and a clip is useless to a liberal/progressive. It will do little to change their viewpoint. Let's just argue this point; the Second Amendment and the SCOTUS has ruled that it is a GOD given right to keep and bear arms. Sorry Sen. DeLeon...go away! LEAVE ME ALONE!
He's also against private citizens having a semi auto rifle commonly but mistakenly labeled as an assault rifle. Personnel protection from a bad guy is one reason why we should be allowed to keep firearms, including handguns. However it isn't the reason why we have the Second Amendment. The Founding Fathers gave us the Second Amendment to remind the government that it serves the people not the other way around. The right to own and bear arms, including semi-auto rifles is so that we can defend ourselves against government tyranny. But I agree with you that I'm surprised that the DemoncRATS in Detroit hired him.
"In fact, DC is made up of elitist academics who are willing to regulate your life without having ever taken the time or energy to acquaint themselves with your concerns." There is little that they should be doing to "regulate your life having ever taken the time or energy to acquaint themselves with your concerns." My concern is for them to LEAVE ME ALONE! The Constitution is a document that restricts the GOVERNMENT, not a document that allows them to restrict or regulate ME or other PRIVATE CITIZENS! Get out of my business, get out of my home and LEAVE ME ALONE! They need not educate themselves on issues that regulate me, my business, my life or my possessions. I can take care of myself just fine!

This country doesn't have a gun culture. It has a culture of freedom; the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Not everyone can be 6'8" and weigh 350 pounds. A gun in the right hands, equalizes that difference. We don't need a protection culture, we only need to allow those who are law abiding and wish to carry a gun to be able to do so without being harassed or arrested anywhere and everywhere they go in this country. The right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed!

How about we just let those who choose to, exercise their 2nd Amendment right in schools?
Ms. OBrien, The problem with a student taking on a tenured professor is that they will suffer the consequences that the professor can and will put upon that student as a result. The professor is in a position to make the student suffer with poor grades and ridicule. The answer to this type of behavior is to have the class audited by graduate students or others who then report the offending professor to the appropriate dean. Then swift and sure punishment should follow. If the class is not a political science class then the professor shouldn't be lecturing about politics. The best teachers that I had stuck to the lesson plan and I couldn't tell if the professor was liberal or conservative.
"A general dissolution of principles and manners will more surely overthrow the liberties of America than the whole force of the common enemy. While the people are virtuous they cannot be subdued; but when once they lose their virtue they will be ready to surrender their liberties to the first external or internal invader." --Samuel Adams, letter to James Warren, 1779
