I'm a single mother of 2 who works full time and studies at night and yes I go crazy sometimes with my kid's schedules and my own.

It would absolutely help me out if my kids were in school a little longer each day and of course more school can never be a bad thing for a young child......but I will not have the government tell me when, where, how and what I will or will not do with my own children.

What scares me about this whole thing is like any other typical government they will bait us with a seemingly awesome program and then once we buy into it they spring a different one on us and expect us to swallow it....no way, not me.

Hate crimes cannot ever be legislated enough or harshly enough.

You know.....I don't want to sound like I condone crime in any form because I don't, but I can understand someone robbing a convenience store in order to feed his family or something like that.

Hate crimes on the other hand have no purpose begind them other than to inflict the most painful death or harm to someone simply because of the way they look or their sexual persuasion. I ask you, can these animals that do these things to innocent poeople ever be punished severely enough....I say no.

Bring on more, harsh legislation and place a mandatory death penalty on all hate crimes and then see if the statistics go down or not.

Say what you will, but I think this New Gingrich is one sharp individual. If you read some of his publishings and listen to what he says, really listen, the guy has some great ideas that would work given the opportunity.

I think Newt has his finger firmly on the pulse of what's really going on in Washington and he's trying to alert us all. With the overall state of the Union and a president that lies to cover his own rear end, I think Newt is telling us to be worried about our country and more importantly to be afraid.....be very afraid of what's to come.

Say what you will, but this Newt Gingrich is one sharp individual. I really feel he has his finger firmly on the pulse or what's really going on in this county. If you pay attention to what Newt says, really pay attention, he has some great ideas and he obviously has some insight into what's really happening in Washington....the kind of knowledge we the regular people are not privy to.

Newt basicly says we should be worried about how bad things really are in this country and we should also be afraid.....be very afraid of what's to come.

I find it astonishing that Americans are surprised that their own president or political representatives are liars......what rock have you been living under your whole life....it's a part of the game....it's a part of life....get used to it.

I do agree with Obama on one thing...there are a whole lot of doctors out there that fleece the health care insurance system in order to line their pockets and live the high life that we would all like to have. How many doctors do you know that are just getting by like the rest of us? I'm not saying all of them, but a large number perform unnecessary procedures and surgeries just because they can and because they get paid large sums for doing so.

It's funny how an American suddenly becomes a "black" American and brandishes that fact like a weapon to defend themselves by deflecting evidence of guilt or wrongdoing and placing the focus firmly on the color of their skin instead.

The police officer in question is a highly respected (by whites and blacks I might add) and decorated member of the law enforcement community and because he was doing his job and following procedures and safety protocols that involved a black man he's suddenly a racist?

Come on people....that police officer would have done the exact same thing if the man in question was black, white, pink or yellow with green stripes. Gates brought race into this situation not the police officer and because...

Haven't we heard all this before, over and over and over again? Let's face it, the majority of politicians are only in this game for self promotion and gain. Of course Obama told us all everything we wanted to hear while shooting down McCain......he was trying to get ELECTED.

Doesn't this sound just like the famous....."Read my lips, no new taxes" ?

Now that Obama's in office he can change his outlook on health care, tax the living daylights out of us and continue on his lifelong journey to socialism.....unfortunately he's taking all of us with him.
