That gives me hope. However, just how do the remaining 24% think the holiday (HOLY DAY) Christmas was created.

I agree, maybe people should read some basic history to see that Christmas and all of your other HOLY DAYS are just ripoffs of pagan festivals.

To Mirna

Immaculate Conception, Ascension, Easter are rip-offs of pagan festivals?
Mirna Wrote: Dec 10, 2012 12:36 PM
Why yes, many of the festivities that go along with Easter are ripoffs of paganism, And I hardly exactly see people other than a few ultra-religious nutjobs getting too riled up about the Feast of the Immaculate Conception or the Feast of the Ascension. (I hope for your immortal soul you are not Evangelical, since of course Immaculate Conception is a Catholic doctrine).

Umm, Carol's comment was about how Christmas was TRULY created. Of course it was not created but ripped-off by Christians. Clear enough?

Easter still bears the name of the goddess the holiday was stole from.

This is basic essential knowledge but perhaps no one told you that the first Christians were Jewish and then Paul was commanded to share the Good News of Jesus the Christ with pagans. Every early Christian was either Jewish or a pagan. That might have something to do with Christmas traditions.

There was no Christmas before Christ.

Rasmussen Reports is out with some data sure to make anti-Christmas heads spin. The vast majority of Americans believe Christmas should be focused on Jesus, not Santa.

Should Christmas be more about Jesus Christ or Santa Claus? It may seem hard to tell looking at the popular culture, but Americans overwhelmingly think the emphasis should be on Jesus.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 76% of American Adults believe Christmas should be more about Jesus. Only 14% think it should be more about Santa, but another 10% are not sure.
