Shocking that she's been cleared.

It does need to change. We need to find that one in a billion who is smart, TRULY believes in conservatism, and is articulate enough to "sell" it to others in ways that are easily understood, no matter the listeners intelligence level. I'd ask you to take on the mantle, Mr. Sowell, but I also think we need someone younger, more in touch with and able to use all of the methods available today. I really thought, hoped and prayed Paul Ryan would fill that spot, but he obviously didn't. So who's next? Marco Rubio? Bobby Jindahl? Nikki Healey? Someone we haven't seen that much of yet? And then there's the really huge question of whether, in another four years, we will even have a country left to save.

I agree with you, but nice is a "problem" a lot of conservatives have. It's why we were called the "Silent Majority" for so many years. Unless you're a commentator, it's difficult for most conservatives to beat their own drum and say why we believe what we do. It's like we think others should just KNOW, like osmosis.
I like your idea of the Republicans just voting "present." Let the progressive, liberal, Dems get what they want, totally without opposition, and let things fall where they may. We can hope it will educate people that total social engineering does not work and they will have no one to blame but themselves. Then maybe we can all work together to restore our Republic.
Totally agree with you. The only thing I think you should have included is that the only "War on Women" most of us unfamous types see is the one perpetuated by the liberals.

A Historic Debate Failure

You're right. To a constant liar, the truth probably is a lie. It'd be funny if it wasn't so sad.
And by the way, I am white -- female -- almost 60 years old -- a Constitutional conservative -- but first and foremost, I AM A PROUD AMERICAN, born and bred in this amazing country! The granddaughter of legal immigrants on one side and fifth generation Americans on the other side, both of which were proud of their citizenship.
Caring for my fellow citizens does NOT mean I want to work to support them for their entire lives, while they stand around and whine about how poor they are. I've been in too many grocery lines while they buy steaks and I can barely afford hamburger. Caring for the environment does NOT mean that I fall for every hook and line about global warming or climate change. The planet is a living entity and, as such, has every right to go through its own phases in its own time. We have changed it. We have harmed it. We have also worked toward making it better after we've realized how we've changed or harmed it. That takes a caring soul.
Lets face it folks, ROMNEY ROCKED in the first debate! I find it rather amusing that Obama is out today, trying to discredit what Romney said last night. Looks like his writers stayed up all night trying to find ways to fix Obama's total failure in the debate. Yes, there are more debates to come, but Romney is off to a terrific start.
Awesome questions, Ms. Malkin, and we'd all love the answers and to see Mr. Obama squirm over them, but how can they be debated? Trust me, I'm not on Mr. Obama's "side" in any way, shape or form, but I just don't see how anyone could answer those questions in a debate format.
