In response to:

Romney to Akin: Exit the Race

I will say this for guys like Akin: there is a kind of logic. I mean, if you REALLY believe that abortion is "murder," if you REALLY think that terminating the pregnancy of some frightened teenage girl in South LA is the equivalent to someone blowing out the brains of your five year old grandkid, then, yeah, rape is no reason to terminate a pregnancy, and yeah, killing abortion doctors is probably a morally legitimate act, since he is "murdering" hundreds of "human beings." What gets me are not guys like Akin, but the pro-life weasels who call abortion "murder" and refuse to fess up to the consequences of that assertion. As for Akin, he is just another reason why America is failing--sliding from our roots in science and ..

Falling from our roots in science, huh?

Okay, tell me, empirically...

- what significant changes occur precisely during birth that makes a baby human?

The umbilical? Gimme a break. It's a feeding tube. The baby still has to eat what the parents give it after birth.

Leaving the womb? Wow, so geographic position dictates humanity. I'd better not leave the room, it might be legal to murder me.

Whereas fertilization is a clear, distinct recombination of genes to form a unique organism.
How is it scientific to hold ANY other opinion?

Liberal if you really think young teenage girls are at stake perhaps you should imprison the middle aged men that got her pregnant.

No, Liberal, the average pro-life person is not a weasel. They would rather you not have an abortion and live a conservative life, but will not throw you in prison if you do. Akin is not in the mainstream which is why every public conservative told him to quit.

..rationality, and towards stupidass hocus pocus. How can such a country be "great" or "exceptional," It is not. It is a dark age country. That is Akin's America. But at LEAST he is not a weasel.

sorry about the double-post. Old guy's disease.

Our decline in science is because we do not have sufficient abortions in the country? Well, who woulda thunk it! But, now that you mention it, you are obviously correct. (Sarc off)

Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney has asked Missouri Senate Candidate Todd Akin to withdraw from the race as fallout from comments made about rape over the weekend continues. Romney released the following statement this afternoon.

As I said yesterday, Todd Akin's comments were offensive and wrong and he should very seriously consider what course would be in the best interest of our country.  Today, his fellow Missourians urged him to step aside, and I think he should accept their counsel and exit the Senate race.

Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin and others have already called for...
