The Sixth Amendment to the United States Constitution states, in relevant part: "In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district where in the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law . . . ."

So, since 9/11 happened in NYC, the accused had the right to a trial by an impartial jury of the district the WTC was located in. Now, there might be a problem finding an impartial jury in NYC and a change of venue might be necessary but NYC was obviously proper venue.

There is no so-called “enemy combatant” exception to the Bill of Rights for terrorists arrested on American soil. It’s not even a debatable legal question as I have proven beyond doubt in my posts here. The enemy combatant legal fiction has no application on US soil....
