Here's what is missing...

Take a look at all the progressive legislation and institutions since Teddy Roosevelt.

How much of it have the Republicans and conservatives and moderates repealed in the interests of a more limited government?

THAT was the import of Noonan's column.

And most of the comments here missed that point. Instead, readers are treated to invective and buffoonery.

Peggy Noonan has a good take on the health care bill and Obama's approval ratings. Here's a snippet:
Passage of the health-care bill will be, for the administration, a catastrophic victory. If it is voted through in time for the State of the Union Address, as President Obama hopes, half the chamber will rise to their feet and cheer. They will be cheering their own demise.
