During his tenure at the Justice Department, Ashcroft oversaw federal law enforcement officials who arrested, Mirandized, charged, convicted, and imprisoned hundreds of terrorists, all on American soil and in American courts. This was the norm, and it was not deemed controversial in the slightest. Ashcroft even bragged about it.

The only disagreement with this position is from those Republicans whose opinions were vastly different until Obama was inaugurated as President. In other words, once again Republicans are showing their hypocrisy -- or as is so often a laughable outrage here at Townhall, showing their "2 faces".

you WOULD see another person's desperate plight as "ludicrous", wouldn't you?

Like Cantor, who thinks his constituents are "allegedly" being raked over the coals by healthcare, the GOP is one sick, twisted Party.
Please. There is no way Gergen will admit the truth -- he's way too compromised. How pathetic. Today's summit showed one thing: How completely immovable the GOP is on one of the most important issues facing our country. They bring nothing but talking points and were shot down by intelligence and dignity. McCain sounded like a feeble old crank, Cantor doesn't trust his 'alleged' constituents, and even Lamar got slammed to the mat for not knowing the nuances behind his wrong-headed accusations.

It was slaughter for the GOP. Your side came out looking like you didn't care for anyone of lesser means, and as arrogant prix.
The GOP said over and over that they 'knew' what the American people want. What a joke. When given point by point analysis of the healthcare reform bill as opposed to what we deal with now, the American people WANT the vote NOW without further obstruction for the likes of Cantor, who feels his constituents "allege" insurance industry misdeeds, or Bunning posturing about extending unemployment benefits while 'sacrificing' his ability to watch a basketball game as he stomps on his state's most desperately needy!

That's your GOP 'knowing' what "Americans want", folks.

CPAC Straw Poll: Ron Paul in 2012?

The same guy the 'fair and balanced' network shut out of the 2008 presidential debates. Shows just how desperate the GOP is. And Palin? Where's that vast, vast support network she supposedly enjoys? Instead, she can't even pull double digit support from her own indoctrinated, mindless, fawning wingnuts.

He's right. No need for a bigger tent, not when the clowns of the GOP can fit in a clown car under one very small, feverishly insane tent.
Don't try to tell us that this doesn't go on ALL the time and that the Republican Party isn't part and parcel of 'buying' out candidates with cushy jobs to keep them out of a race. Just don't, because the problems the GOP is having right now with their HYPOCRISY on everything is making it hard to take the clowns seriously.

with their addled-brain time. Why not protest stuff they don't understand outside a summit they don't understand and backing a party that disdains them?

any way you slice it. All it says is that Republicans STILL have a problem and are STILL on the losing side of the polls.
