Yes Israelis can own guns and carry them in public. There's a cultural difference. Israelis don't kill each other with guns. We do. Israelis need and use guns to defend themselves against terrorists from a foreign source,, a well defined threat.. We don't currently have that problem. I haven't forgotten 9/11.
