Gee. You must not be from around here, right? I've lived and commuted by bicycle in big East Coast cities. It takes a properly set up bike and a very special skill set to stay alive. Unless you are an idiot, about the last thing you want to do as mayor is turn a bunch of non-cyclists and dumb tourists loose on crowded New York streets riding unfamiliar bicycles.

Citigroup, who was the recipient of over $476 billion dollars of taxpayer bailout money, has joined forces with the City of New York to sponsor a $41 million dollar bike share program.
