I agree. Thomas Sowell was one of the great thinkers of our time who participated in the 1980 ten part series hosted by PBS called Free to Choose by Milton Friedman. This was one of the best debate series I have seen. They discussed both sides of the issues of the day. Many of which are still being discussed. Too bad we no longer have a civil discourse. It has become about half truths and talking points. No longer any real substance.

Romney Didn't Make the Sale

Romney won't "create" a single job. That will be left to the free market he spoke of. As you may or may not know the military is constitutionally mandated and will be supplied by people again working (jobs) at companies who produce those goods. Regulations and excessive governmental intrusion into those free markets is a big part of the problem. What a Romney Presidency (I hope) will do is to cut away those regulations that do nothing but reduce competition through government intrusion. Please educate yourself and others about how a large out of control gov. is the problem never the answer. Big Government + Big Labor + Big Business = Less and Less Freedom for us All.
Are you for real??? Demand side economics? I wish it were so. I would love to demand a Porche 959, Oh wait, I can't afford it...but I demand it?? Be real. Supply always follows a demand that can be paid for by those demanding it. Nobody is going to produce anything that they won't get paid for. I am sick and tired of paying for my others through my taxes. I want to keep what I earn and spend it on what I want, not provide it to who hasn't earned it but still is demanding it. Enough of this BS. I am sick of the Johnson's great society. Come to Detroit and see the results of demand side economics, everybody demanding to be taken care of but few willing to do the work. Its not pretty
"Men who look upon themselves born to reign, and others to obey, soon grow insolent; selected from the rest of mankind their minds are early poisoned by importance; and the world they act in differs so materially from the world at large, that they have but little opportunity of knowing its true interests, and when they succeed to the government are frequently the most ignorant and unfit of any throughout the dominions" Thomas Paine said this in the late 1700's and it couldn't be more true of anyone more than Obama.
For sure. Harry and Nancy are doing more for the resurgance of the GOP then any Republican "attack" ad has. Keep up the good work all you liberal democrats. The more you are out there the better. You have finally awoken the sleeping giant and were coming for you.

There Ought Not to Be a Law

Our constitution was written for a free and moral people. A limitted government was to be the order of the day. Not a government that controls every aspect of a persons life. I am not so naive as to believe no goverment is the answer. We must have some. Our founders intrinsicly knew that. We need government that works and we will never have that on a national scale. We must get back to state and local governments providing the answers. State and local gov. are more responsive to the people because they are by definition closer to them. Senators need to again be appointed by the individual states not elected for life burecrats. We have done this to ourselves. We must be the ones to fix it. By all means necessary.
The only reason for Stockton, CA at the top of the list as the largest city to file bankrupcy is because Detroit has yet to file. When the fateful day occurs and it will, the once proud city in Michigan will have the honor of again being #1. We are number one in murders, car jackings, rapes of minors, burgleries and drug arrests. It is good to be number one in something. An article in last weeks Detroit Free Press was discussing how the City of Dertoit water dept will have to reduce its employee numbers by 85%. I would sure like to know how a municiple agency gets to be that bloated. Coul;d it have to do with union paybacks?? Welcome to the great union mecca of Detroit.
