It's hard to be sure that you really read what I wrote based on your response, so I'll ignore the parts that are irrelevant, and simply reiterate that I am not a Republican, and don't feel in any way bound to their failures.

Is it totally false? Governments were by far the largest killers of their own populations in the 20th century, has this financial meltdown completely erased that history? Does the government really have no responsibility for what happened?

Like everyone else on the morning of Oct. 9, the major media's first reaction to Barack Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize was shock and disbelief. NBC's Matt Lauer spoke for the pack when he said he didn't want to be "rude," but how did Obama earn it? Washington Post columnist (and former reporter) Ruth Marcus was blunt: "This is ridiculous -- embarrassing, even." She said the award is supposed to be for "doing, not being."
