What Obama really wants is a great crisis. Like what happened to Germany after WW I. So he can tell all that only the govt can save you, and then really use govt control to take over.
Since a crisis will not happen on it's own, he has to manufacture one, and he's working overtime to do so. runaway spending is his way to do this.
