I used to live there and YES, I can vouch for that! They're some of the worst perpetrators.
Maybe the liberal arts is deemed a "useless degree" by people like you, but you sure could have used some of those arts in the English grammar and writing department. It never ceases to amaze me that those who mock classic liberal arts as a serious study, themselves have a lot to learn outside their area of expertise. For years, I've heard nothing but "science and maths, maths and science" - and nothing else counts. Well, you reap what you sow, Buddy.
Sounds like these are the best & most livable states!

There IS a resemblance to the young '60s Democrats. I remember the intolerance of many, both at college and out in the "real world" back in late 60s/70s/80s. They were elitists then and it's the same way today. Only now they're parents and grandparents - how else could gay marriage/gov't healthcare be accepted into the mainstream? Not only through MSM/Hollywood; publishing; K-12 education/higher education; high tech, but through marriage and rearing families in their own image. I know -- I've observed this over a lifetime. (Roosevelt Democrats --> Kennedy Democrats --> Clinton Democrats --> Obama Democrats: many imbibed from the parents (Roosevelt); were children under Kennedy; came of age w/ Clinton; are now "establishment" with Obama.
