Speaking strictly as a married female, I too enjoyed the 'old-fashioned' method of conceiving our children! ;) Not difficult to understand the other reasons why most Americans reject turkeybaster conception, either: children are not pets nor projects to be created for our own pleasure and satisfaction. If you listen to the self-centered justifications for single women deliberately choosing to be single mothers, THAT is why Americans draw that line. Females who want children but not the fathers of them would be better off getting a pet.
The new Jennifer Aniston movie THE SWITCH flopped miserably in its opening weekend, finishing eighth at the box office despite its popular star and huge promotional budget.

This is the third example this year of sharp public rejection of what Hollywood calls “Turkey Baster” movies—stories about glamorous women choosing artificial insemination without direct participation by a man. Jennifer Lopez previously starred in the embarrassing bomb THE BACKUP PLAN, about an aging single woman inseminated with twins, while Julianne Moore and Annette Bening played gay partners who make two children with an unknown sperm donor in THE KIDS ARE ALL RIGHT....
