Rocky Mountain High for Animals, Not People
Things haven't changed with these freaks, only the names. 30+ years ago I remember John Denver did a commercial touting gas/energy conservation-no driving large cars, driving slower, etc. Irony of it was, at the end of that commercial he got into his large and I'm sure very handsomely appointed Cadillac and drove off. Rumor had it he also kept a very large gasoline tank on his property for his own use. It was then my teen crush on him died.
On the other hand, we had neighbors who grew their own food and had goats for milk; she grew and dried her own herbs, made their clothes, etc. They did a lot to sustain themselves with minimal retail purchasing but were not to my recollection particularly religious....
