I have been thinking about scales. Time scales, temperature scales, even metaphysical scales.
We are now in the year 2010. I don't want to revisit the argument which states that, because there was no year zero, this is not the first year of the second decade of the 21st century.

Let's Give it a Rest
As to birth-point well taken, that's how the Chinese calculate it, but you have to admit that in this country it isn't done that way, especially over the last thirty-some years. Imagine the *ahem* chaos that would result from formally adopting THAT calculation! ;)
Speaking of calendars women the world over use the lunar month to monitor their cycles.
Other than the Bible which also uses the following to mark time; lunar phases, solstices and seasons, are there other possible explanations for the seven-day week, the four-week month, etc?
