Government-Run Health Care Is the Antithesis of Real Feminism
Get the Gov't out of health care altogether, excepting the necessary medical licensing and usual consumer protections. Insurance ought be a hedge against disasters such as accidents, cancer, or long-term care and therapy, rather than a catch-all for even the most basic of services; and should be portable. Tort reform. Returning ERs to their original and best function: stabilizing trauma/assisting in rapid-onset childbirths.
Result: No more docs refusing to take Medicare/Medicaid patients because of the mountains of paperwork necessary to process them, to say nothing of being reimbursed as much as 20% below market rates. The oldsters who use the docs' offices as the center of their social lives will stop-because the...
