So, however he got the OK to have his flagpole, (or, knowing him, it would have likely been a matter of 'or not'), he's got it.

There are, to my mind, bigger battles to fight. The next owner can, after all, remove the pole if he so desires.

The colonel should be permitted to have his flag, and should receive the gratitude of his neighbors for his service, instead of the harassment of thin-skinned legal-eagle...
