Dear Mr. Knight, I dumped my subscription in 2001 and despite persistent offers of ever cheaper subscriptions, I will not renew. Ever. One expects a science magazine to provide correct information as far as it is understood. They do not. Photos alone are not enough to entice me to endure the ever further left-leanings of the magazine along with the propaganda that goes with it. The one or two times I picked one up on rack disappointingly reinforced my decision to never renew a subscription unless they change. The nuggets are not worth it - even at the 1 dollar per copy rate they have offered. Thanks for the article. regards,

I stopped subscribing some years ago. (At least an editor or two ago.) National Geographic is more left than the news mags. Al Gore all the way at NatGeo. They keep emailing offering me a subscriptions at .99/copy ... Less than Newsweek.
