As is typical for this state, we have a small pocket in the north that is heavily populated. They predominately are liberal and pass massive spending measures that the rest of the state has to pay for. Most of the counties vote time and again against all of this spending because we WANT to be independent. We know how to take care of ourselves, and would rather. Just recently, the "non-elected" government workers just received massive raises. Of the short list of 50 positions that I saw, only 3 received an annual RAISE that was less than I make in a year, GROSS. We sent a barage of e-mails and letters, to no avail. And these are the people that the the liberals of this state vote back into office, every time. Most of the time I feel my...
So I'm watching Fox News this morning and there is a report about one of our young soldiers who was killed in action. And, of course, the loonies are demonstrating his funeral. I can guarantee that not one of these demonstrators was a conservative. What I find most sad about the whole thing is that these fringe liberals have no empathy for the grieving families who have to read signs like "thank God for dead soldiers". And then they have the gall to try to build up outrage over Palin's metaphorical remark about reloading.

I just have one thing to add to your post. If you want respect, give it. The trend toward male-bashing has basically taken that piece out of the picture. I'm not talking about subjugating, or deferring. I'm talking about showing men the respect that we wish for ourselves. The feminist movement began because of real problems with our society in their view of women. But as all pendulums do, it swung extreme in proportion to the problem and feminists went way overboard into male hating. And that emotion has been taught to our daughters. The pendulum is simply swinging back in the other direction. I hope that during the "equilibrium" part of the swing that we are able to pass on the concept of mutual respect to our children.

The Brainy Bunch

So correct. I have more concerns about the gov't micromanaging my life now then I ever have before.
As far as "brainy" I have never seen so many international faux paus and blunders as have happened in Obama's short time in office. It is quite evident that he has NOT surrounded himself with any advisors with knowledge of how to comport himself in other countries. Bowing to a fellow leader of a country, who is considered and equal, which is only expected from subordinates; Michelle touching the Queen of England just to name a few. And just recently, evading the Prime Minister of England. He doesn't have time to meet the PM; he only has time to talk with his "man on the ground" in Afghanastan once! But he has plenty of time to go on...

To a situations. I am definitely a feminine girly-girl type, with brains and respect from both male and female co-workers and friends. I would never be comfortable being a "feminist" as defined here. There are women out there who are not comfortable being ultra feminine. We need to recognize that there are many different types of women, just as there are many different types of men. Feminine women need to be feminine and less-feminine women need to be less feminine. Why do we have to force the other side to fit into the same box as the other? Along the same line we need to let men be men. We (females) have so stripped away, and corrupted the roles of men in our society that it's no wonder they don't know where they fit in most of the...

I'm Moving to Fox

John, On those rare occasions when I watched ABC I found your reports refreshingly honest and full of common sense. As much as I feel there needs to be a voice like yours on mainstream news I rarely found you because I refuse to go to ABC, NBC, CBS or CNN. I will enjoy seeing you more often now that you are with Fox. As far as ideas, I heard a woman on Laura Ingraham this morning talking about how no other country has people with that spark of determination that will pull us out of the current and looming economic situation, as the Americans. What other countries have become complacent and accepting about, because they have been experiencing what Japan calls the "lost decade(s)", is just now hitting America. My point is that one reason...

The Practice of Political Gnosticism

You have hit the nail on the head. I keep asking myself how these people can continue doing what they are doing while we are screaming at them to slow down. I couldn't understand how little they care about what "we the people" want. Now I get it. They are patting us on the head, knowing that we are simple(y) unenlightened. Once they get their way,we'll see that they were right. I knew Obama was a narcissist long before he was elected, so his action don't surprise me. Because the liberals had been contained by the conservatives for such a long time I was not aware how much they really believe that they know so much more than we do about what is best for us. Now it all makes sense. I can now just sit back and know that however this all...
