The stars cannot see the hypocrisy of pushing Oboma taxes here and avoiding them in France. Will Smith did a double take when he learned that France wanted 75% of his money - Depp doesn't love France enough to pay up. Yet, they come back here and support a man whose policies lead to the same type of society that France has. Surely they are not all stupid. Not stupid enough, apparently, to stay where their taxes will take most of their money.

Oh yes they are that stupid. Rich, celebritiy liberals don't mind hearing Obama say he wants to increase taxes on the rich from 35% to 40%. The extra 5% doesn't hurt them at all. But going from 35% to 75% gets their attention and even the richest of libs will have a problem if this becomes their "fair share".

In my defense, this is not because of hostility to French people, who have always been friendly to me. Instead, France has become the global symbol of statism (particularly since Sweden has been moving in the right direction). The French, for instance, are increasingly infamous for class-warfare tax policy and onerous levels of intervention.

And since it’s my job to promote liberty, I’ll confess that it’s...
