Nearing a decision on Iran

Guess it all boils down to this: Can a limited preemptive air strike sufficiently cripple Iran's nuclear capabilities, or is total subjugation of Iran required to accomplish that purpose. Next: Is total subjugation possible without nuking the entire country into submission? We know from the Iraq experience that a full-scale ground invasion is costly and has virtually no exit point. The only alternative, then, is a preemptive NUCLEAR strike. Such has never been done in history. When the US nuked Japan, we were in full-scale armed hostilities with that country. Nuking a country that has done little more than mouth off against an overbearing aggressor is is simply unjustifiable.
Ever watched Jesse Ventura's episode dealing with Manchurian Candidates"? They can very well be controlled: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVGt-JC8a-A In fact, it's what they are "made for."
