President Obama, in the tradition of progressive Democratic leaders, believes government should ask the more economically fortunate citizens to be responsible for helping the less well off.
But the president seems to fail to acknowledge that there are plenty of actions an individual can take to avoid becoming part of that growing crowd of "less fortunate." Instead, in Obama's world, there exists a simple zero-sum melodrama of victims and oppressors.
If recent poll numbers are correct, many Americans find that life in the real world is a lot more complicated than the near-constant us vs. them rhetoric about...












The Ongoing Melodrama of Victims and Oppressors
While I agree Obama seeks to relieve people of their responsibility, I believe his intent is far more insidious than represented here.
To live a meaningful, satisfying life, people need to be needed, they need to have purpose.
Apparently Obama needs to feel needed by millions, and therefore infantilizes them with the implication that they are incapable of taking care of, or doing better for, themselves.
This is not commendable, it is reprehensible.
He is trying to satisfy his obvious narcissism by creating a society dependent on him, on his "benevolence". If he weren't President it...
