Illiberal Education

Education is always ideological and an intensely contested space. However, what liberals are doing now is to criminalize anyone who questions or disagrees with their dogmas. This must be fought until it is eradicated. It is this very move for persecuting and censoring dissent which is criminal in itself.

Jeffrey, hate and passionate denouncement of Christianity because of your personal views, which clearly do not allow for ANY discussion or disagreement, is defined as closed mindedness.

You would be thrown out of any debate and so anyone who responds to you needs to realize that they are responding to emotional argument, one that is as fragile as glass.

Read BOTH sides, including those that disagree with you, with an open mind.
Better yet, read of the atheists who had far more interest in scientifically challenging Christianity, who converted. Their arguments against Christianity were more cogent, more rational and far more sophisticated than yours.

"Don't you teach your children not to mock or make fun of others? What's wrong with schools doing it? "

[ I believe you and I both know that schools are not necessarily teaching children not to mock gays. They are teaching them the specifics of that lifestyle, that it's OK for them to be gay, and that they may be gay. That is a big gap in the motives of such an academic endeavor. That moves from the realm of educating to social engineering people's children on subjects that should be left to children's parents. A mature mind might at least present their argument with some credibility and not use nonsensical non-existent relationships. A mature mind would see benefit in that. ]

Christians have been indoctrinating people, even children, for years. How is that any better than the supposed liberals doing it? It is hardly criminal to attempt to stop hate speech that marginalizes or diminishes individuals for being who they are. A mature mind might actually see benefit in that. Don't you teach your children not to mock or make fun of others? What's wrong with schools doing it?

Kenneth Howell was booted from his job at the University of Illinois for teaching Catholicism. His job at the University of Illinois, as it happens, was teaching Catholicism.

After more than two months of controversy over a firing that should have never have happened, he has been offered his job back. The turnaround underscores the scandal that continues at core institutions of our Western culture. The incident exposes, once again, the lie that is the popular conception of "tolerance," so conventionally in vogue and by no coincidence a tenet of left-wing ideology.

Howell, who teaches an introductory survey of Catholic thought,...
