UN Climate Change Report: We’re All Going to Die

The IPCC is wrong, but by being too conservative in the rate of increasing Climate Chaos (and yes that is the best description). For example, the ice floating in the Arctic Ocean is shrinking MUCH faster than they predicted. The summer minimum for 2012 was 1/3rd the area and about a fifth of the volume of the late 1970s/early 1980s (when good satellite data was available). http://nsidc.org/arcticseaicenews/files/2013/10/Figure3_Sept2013_trend.png The jet stream is caused by just two factors, the rotation of the earth (unchanged) and the temperature difference between the Arctic and further south. A warmer Arctic (undeniable by those that look at facts) means a weaker jet stream. In mid-summer, the jet stream used to push weather systems in & out every month or so. Now, the weather we have in early summer tends to stay all summer long - absent a major hurricane. Eh, Texas ? The weird combination of a tropical hurricane and a nor'easter made Super Storm Sandy. This was not caused by the jet stream, but allowed by the new weaker jet stream. The weaker jet stream was in an unusual hair-pin loop over Greenland which allowed and guided the merger. Just because humans are imperfect in predicting every detail (example, underestimating Arctic Ocean ice melt) does *NOT* mean than humans are not permanently altering our Climate forever. Humanity is forcing a rapid change and the change will be chaotic. Remember, there are no "Do Overs' or going back to what we remember as children. It is just a matter of how fast and chaotically we change.

And therefore what??? How about so what???

We are rapidly, and permanently, changing the Climate that we live in, we grow food in and nature exists in. The changes we are causing are almost all going to be negative - and permanent.

The French and Danes are showing ways to reduce their carbon emissions while improving both their economies and their everyday way of life. But the Tea Party wants to continue their Tea Party Socialism, instead of reacting to market demands. Texas is going to steal from their Rainy Day fund to subsidize gasoline for example.

When I consider all the natural upheavals this planet has gone through since Creation, I do not fret in the slightest when I hear these loony rantings from environazis - I recall we were told 40 years ago that we would have mass extinctions, food riots, shortages, social chaos and so forth in 40 years . . .all this nonsense is a hoax with purely socialist political origins and purpose - it sounds so wonderful to some, who would not want to 'help save the planet' ??
One event that comes to mind, just in my lifetime, is the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo in 1991 - it blasted billions of tons of natural elements/pollutants into the atmosphere, the next summer was cold, much of the Philippines was devastated, people made homeless, farmland wiped out, but the country has recovered since that time.
All this shrieking and noise about so-called agw is nothing but a hoax, so don't fret and worry - enjoy life now !

What is the amount of algore's 'carbon footprint' ?? he is the worst hypocrite environazi of all, yet he has a sizable presence in this regard. There are no socialists in the Tea Party, BTW, only in the Whte House and those socialist countries you mentioned . . .what great examples of environazism they are ! !

Ahm just looking for sumone to luuuv! You're no fun. Let the record show that I know more people/heroes (Afghanistan, not to keep mentioning Benghazi, but no one will much any more, have been killed under this president, the SK/CK, than the one before that the lamedia had crucified for just existing as prez. Than Global Warming, GW, cause by man, hu man(s!)

In your "studies" of "global warming/climate change/global climate wierding/whatever they're calling it this week" have you happened to notice that the agw demonstrators that attempted to sail the "Northwest Passage" are frozen in? Have you seen reports that the ice is BACK with a vengance?
Climate changes. Get used to it. The percentage of CO2 has been much higher in the past. It was also both warmer and colder in the past. Of course, your high priests deliberately ignore those facts in their agenda to inflict global socialism.
Get yourself some cold weather gear. Sunspot activity has been minimal.

Please look at the data. This is derived from satellite photos is simply the truth.

As my linked graph shows, 2012 was below the long term trend and 2013 was above. YET 2013 was half (not 1/3rd) the area of the late 1970s, early 1980s.

HALF is gone in just 40 years (actually more on average), and the other half will be gone before 2053. This has effects.

The last time the Arctic was ice free, homo sapiens were just hunter gatherers in Africa. "WE" have never lived in such a world before.

And it is not just that Climate is changing - but that we are changing it with such ENORMOUS speed ! It is changing too fast for farmers to react - too fast for us to move out from coastal cites, too fast for nature to adapt.

Yes there will be an Earth with life on it in 2250. And there will also almost certainly be humans there too. But an advanced industrial society may not make it. Change too fast -and too chaotically - to adapt to and things can fall apart. The USA is near the top of the list of nations likely to collapse (below Bangla Desh & Pakistan, maybe China, but not that much below).

Add a random natural event to a stressed system - say a volcanic explosion that creates a a "Year without a Summer" or a Carrington solar flare, and the systems to support 8, or 10, billion people come crashing down.

And you are the one that blindly worships your Denier priests.

I have looked at the data fairly closely and concluded, based on my own analysis and public available data, that the IPCC is wrong. They UNDERSTATE the impact of human caused greenhouse gases.
