I am well aware of the reason it is considered constitutional,it is because of the UN single convention treaty.This is the same UN that republicans despise.My opinion is that it is unconstitutional according to the 9th and 10th amendments and it is just plain wrong for the federal govt to dictate what citizens can do with their own bodies.Forget the Lincoln quote..."the constitution is not an instrument for the government to restrain the people,it is an instrument for the people to restrain the government"

The only thing that will help stop the drug war is for politicians,both dem and republican to realize that to continue supporting it is a political liability and the only way for that to happen is for citizens...

LOL!..the Harrison Act was an end run around the constitution,it didn't outlaw marijuana,it placed a prohibitive tax on it.I can tell you right now that I have forgotten more facts about the drug war than you will ever know.
I have noticed in the last few years that a majority of republicans are finally starting to come around about the failed drug war,the problem is that you are not telling your republican representatives.
Suggestion-go to leap.org...Law Enforcement Against Prohibition,a group of over 10,000 former DEA,FBI,state and local police,prosecutors and judges who have been on the front lines and see the sense in implementing more common sense policies.And then contact your republican representatives like Mark Souder and...

Why is anyone surprised by this? Republicans have been blindly supporting the Nixon/Reagan war on Americans for decades.Anyone who suggests a common sense policy is shouted down by republican drug warriors as being "soft on drugs".
Remember,it took a constitutional amendment to outlaw alcohol because it has always been unconstitutional for big brother to tell citizens what they can put in their own body.
