Abraham Lincoln did NOT preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States and neither has Barack Obama. That is what makes both presidents so much alike. Lincoln and Obama both championed the U.S. Constitution when it serves their purpose, but ignored and bypassed it when it did and does not comport to their ideologies…the same for the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights of individuals in the United States. Abraham Lincoln gave the United States a despotism form of government and Obama is on his way to achieving the same unconstitutional goal. In this negative freedom and independence manner Lincoln and Obama a very much alike in their ideology. ###

Our greatest president suspended habeas corpus because he was presiding over a much greater threat to the nation than the big-eared one will ever see unless he looks in a mirror. To compare these two is insanity quintupled.

Our greatest president? Lincoln was one of the greatest tyrants in history. Before him, the U.S. was a voluntary union of states, states supposedly having the greatest rights. He changed all that with his opinion that, once a member of the union, it was a punishable criminal act to leave it. The hell with him.

Your understanding of history is astonishingly shallow and your ignorance vast. It's a shame. You have benefited from the great nation that was forged by the Civil War and Lincoln's commitment to preserving that union of states. Perhaps you also don't feel that this is a great nation. Again, shame on you for willful blindness and ignorance.

I am sick & tired of people going on and on about how wonderful LIncoln was and deleting many of the things he really said that the bleeding hearts would have a stroke over.

Looking back over the last four years, it is now obvious that the greatest symbolic moment of President Barack Obama' first term was the very first moment.

That is when Obama placed his left hand on Abraham Lincoln's Bible, raised his right hand, and followed the lead of Chief Justice John Roberts in attempting to recite the oath that all American presidents must take, swearing to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.

Obama and Roberts mangled the oath, a poignant precursor of their subsequent exertions to mangle the Constitution itself.

The Constitution says: "Before he enter on...
