Jackson was brilliant at times, but the comment of "Jackson standing there like a stonewall" at 1st Bull Run by Bee was probably not meant to be a compliment but rather "look at that jacka** standing there with his finger up his behind." His Valley Campaign though...pure brilliant. Stuart though has be roundly blamed for going off and leaving Lee blind at Gettysburg. At the end of the battle when he did finally show up and boosted of the wagons and other material he had captured Lee response was "they are an encumbrance to me sir."

I’ll grant supporters of hate crimes legislation one thing: they certainly understand the tactical advantage of being hateful when accusing others of hate.
