Russia could have been a key ally but since the end of the Cold War it has been the Americans than have been rubbing Russia's nose in it and if the shoe was on the other foot, Americans would be as ticked off--what if Russia had won the cold war and the SW had broken from the US to form Republic of Aztlan and The USSR invited it to join the Warsaw Pact, what if it placed "defensive missiles" in Mexico and Cuba?

The US-sided with Albanians over Kosovo and bombed Serbia who never was a threat to the US--the Serbs southern brothers, it pushed NATO (an anti-Soviet relic from the Cold War)into the old Soviet Union almost as far as Hitler had gone and now some in the US want to push it even deeper, the US pulls from the ABM with plans...

Is it reset or repeat?

This past week's rhetorical exchanges between Russia and the Republic of Georgia is a definite reminder that the complex political, historical and geographic issues at play in the Russo-Georgia War of August 2008 still plague both nations and affect Russia's relations throughout Europe.

Likewise, the "reset" of U.S.-Russian relations, touted by the Obama administration as a demonstrable change from Bush administration diplomacy, is, well, quite unsettled.
