150 Years ago these "children" would be married with 2 or 3 kids and are the same age as "children" who were fighting in places like Iwo Jima. The same age as children who in most states can legally operate deadly weapons (also known as cars) and as for statutory rape that depends on the state doesn't it since in this state she would be of the age of consent. 16 yos maybe many things, but children is not one of them. And Brent--in more dire need of a bl*wjob than any white man in history--if you don't like her videos no one is forcing you to watch them now are they?
Dr. Death of the Balkans was the greatest diplomat in a generation? That probably says more for the decline of the American Diplomat than the greatness of Holbrooke.

Deporting people who hate your guts? Disliking or even hating someone seems to me to be protected by the Constitution, but even those who break or dislike US law are entitled to Due Process--that something people fought and died for as well was it not? It seems David doesn't respect them as much as he claims.
Yes good riddance to bad rubbish.

Maybe some unemployed mercenaries who need a little practice at selected removal.

I'm not on the right...or the left. And any evil fate that befolds Westboro is well deserved in my book. And this was not a threat on my part, just wishful thinking. Just as I bet most here wish OBL dies an awful death, Westboro and its cultists deserve the same.

If I heard though that Westboro was leveled by a large explosion and most of its members had been killed, I would say...good...good riddance.

If this was 1944 and you had heard Hitler and most of his leadership had actually been killed...the bomb plot had actually worked as planned, would you be sheding tears over that fact?
"People like Phelps make me proud of our country. Not because of his loathesome hatred, but because we have a system that says he's free to say it, and his laws and institutions in place to protect him."

If Phelps was murdered, I'd shed no tears and if I was on the jury, I would have a hard time (okay an impossible time) finding his killer guilty.

My only wish was that his death was as long and painful as possible. If I had magic powers, I'd give Phelps and his followers bone cancer or perhaps AIDS--talk about irony.
Actually there is nothing in the Constitution regarding the filibuster or the need for 60 votes, but simply a Senate rule. And yes, it is awfully inconvenient for the party in the majority--Republicans tried to get rid of it too earlier in this decade until the Gang of 14 compromise.
Not a Christian, regard much of what is in the Bible as pure fantasy (the flood, virgin birth, among others), but I have read it.

I agree though that Phelp's beliefs aren't all that different from what a mainstream Baptist believes, only reject his methods.

I don't care that Phelps holds crazed ideas, he can also protest let's say near the Pentagon with signs that say "God Hates F*gs" and "God Loves Dead Soldiers," but when you go and protest at funerals and add to the pain of families who have lost family members in the service of their country, it is time for you have have an in-person interview with God at his office.
"The Baptist's have disavowed any connection with these cultists."

They are part of the Independent Baptist church which are completely autonomous, so no higher authority (say the Southern Baptist Convention) has any power over them. They are like a terrorist cell and in the case of Westboro has been defined as a hate group no different from the Klan.

I will say though many (or at least some) of their opinions are in line with standard Baptist thought. There lines on gays is not all that different from what most Baptists believe.
I think the Westboro Baptist Church should have the sad fate of being struck by a domestic terrorist atatck (hopefulyl when a majority of its members are inside the structure) and then have the FBI assign the most incompetent collection of agents it can find to handle the case and basically have the case go unsolved..."well, we can't solve them all..."wink wink."
