Abortion for Disabled Babies: Who’s to Blame?

Ever seen an anencephalic baby? Ever watched what happens to a family that tries to "raise" an anencephalic child? Well, I have. A nurse in the hospital where I trained carried hers to term, then tried to give the severely handicapped creature a "fulfilling" life. She drove herself into neurosis, alienated her husband, and neglected her two year old son, who developed serious emotional problems - all so that she could pretend that her daughter was anything more than a brainless lump of protoplasm. In the end, her baby died at the age of four months, with less intellect than a flatworm, and her family was destroyed, emotionally and financially. It was stupid, tragic, unnecessary.

Do you think this happened in a vacuum? That God was absent, and didn't know what happened? HE has reasons for everything HE allows us to experience in our lives. He expects us to TRUST HIM through it ALL!

May I introduce you to a Holy God who created that child for a reason? A reason which you, apparently, do not understand! Nor which you will try to understand! Perhaps, because you are so guilt ridden in your own life?!

AJ

the baby was still smarter that all the liberals combined
and worth more

how we treat the least of us....

and skippy, using goverment to "take care of people" is a cop-out. it is simply a way to aswage the guilt you feel so you can pretend that the problems are being solved, when they clearly are not being solved, you anre you kind are allowing yourselves to be used by politicians, shame on you.

And I can tell from your post, ajhil, that you were just a fountain of help and support for this poor woman, weren’t you?

Crassly put, the "child" was brain dead on arrival. The anti-aborts will insist on term delivery, then wash their hands of the result in smug self-satisfaction that they have protected the "child's" right to a life of perpetual abuse. The fact feti and transplant donors have living tissue does not mean they possess a life. At the gestational time of most abortions, the potential child to be does not yet possess the same characteristics, the absence of which was used to define the transplant donor as dead.

You make broad generalizations that you know nothing of. Where I worked, we had a woman who gave birth to a child with Down's Syndrome, and the outpouring of love and support that the woman and her child received was astounding. This was from those "anti-aborts" as you call them. Don't tell me pro-life people "Wash their hand of the result" because I know better. This particular case was not the first I knew about where the love and help never stopped.

Wow in only four months and all for a flatworm. You sure have a way with words. Not necessarily true, but a way with words. Could you walk me step by step through just how she traumatized her two year old? For life no less!

Just overrun with compassion for that baby, aren't you, aj?

The use of the term "creature" sums it up.

Took the words right out of my mouth, binc.

The baby is in gods arms now. This baby did know love from the mother and she will be rewarded. I just can't beleve the family was broke like that. Being broke, you can recover from that and much more...all it takes is love. never murder a baby.

Jennifer Morbelli’s baby had a name. The baby registry was complete, filled with already-purchased items like the book “I’ll Love You Forever.” The nursery was set up. Jennifer Morbelli’s baby, Madison Leigh, was a wanted child—and only seven weeks shy of birth.

Instead, mother and child both died last week from a botched late-term abortion. After learning that Madison had severe birth defects and a short life expectancy, Jennifer and her husband turned to Leroy Carhart, one of the only doctors in the country who performs third-trimester abortions. On February 7th, Jennifer was rushed to the emergency room. (When...
