Hawkins got carried away on this one. He'd have been better off sticking with, say, only 14 items than delving into this foetid mishmash of juvenile superstition & primitive religious imagery. Conservative boasting about "faith" and their persistent "holier than thou" posturing in religious matters is one of their more unsavory characteristics. It comes at some cost too, since it leaves them open to the justifiable charge that they aspire to become an "American Taliban". The Founders were right to declare that religion mixes poorly with public policy. Conservatives should take their advice.

He couldn't. The basic reason is that ALL of liberalism is based on a "foetid mishmash of juvenile superstition & primitive religious imagery". That's what liberal economics (aka socialism) is. It has never worked in all of human history and yet liberals cling tp it like the last flotation device in the North Atlantic.

Go ahead, hold your arrogant, ignorant head high, and spout your cr@p to the world. That Holy God you mock does note, and one day you will stand before that God and face your judgement. Laugh at me if you will, but we will watch you shiver in fear as God makes it very clear to you what He thinks of your life, and where he intends to send you for eternity. Keep it up, it just reminds us daily of the attackes and influence of Satan. I laugh at your ignorance.

What you understand about the founders could fit in a thimble with room to spare. The founders didn't want denominational doctrine in the public square, that didn't mean that religion had no place in the public square.

Founding fathers intended for Government to stay our of religion (one of the reasons for leaving Europe) but certainly expected religion to play a part in politics. It's the removal of God from politics that has resulted in the sickos in government today. We need MORE religion in politics and schools, not less.

Liberalism offers up a utopian vision of the world and then invites its practitioners to feel good about themselves for embracing it. Not only does this beautiful fantasy world never come to pass, liberalism fails to address the root causes of the problems it sets out to solve while creating whole new disasters in the process. In other words, it's a never ending circle. There's a problem, liberalism is offered up as the solution, it doesn't work and creates more problems, for which liberalism is offered up as the solution, etc., etc., etc. until you're starving, bankrupt, or your society...
