The Coming Doctor "Cliff"

and on top of that 27% reduction in pay, I'm pretty sure there are going to be quite a few docs with private practices that will also be facing a nice hefty increase in their own personal income taxes, as I'm pretty sure those practices will bring in over $250K a year. Pretty soon there won't be any doctors left, because who the heck is going to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars on an education only to face a market where you get reimbursed for a tiny fraction of what it costs you to treat a person, and then have the money you do clear taxed so much you barely have anything left to support yourself or your family?

As Congress continues to try and work out a deal with an unreasonable White House to prevent going over the fiscal cliff, doctors are facing even bigger problems. New ObamaCare taxes kick in on January 1 no matter what happens with the fiscal cliff or the debt ceiling and $500 billion has already been cut from Medicare to pay for the legislation. Doctors are begging for Washington to reform the Medicare system rather than come up with short term solutions that aren't really solutions at all. More from POLITICO:

Not only do doctors face a 2...
