My thoughts exactly! A conservative estimate of 50% of what is delivered in my mailbox is unsolicited junk I do not even open. If I am an average customer that knocks the 162b down to 81billion on the very conservative side.

Perhaps that was a math teacher proposing food for thought. The common sense response would be, "the other half of teachers make above the average wage!" In a system based on seniority and not merit, those below the average need only stick it out long enough to find themselves above average and retire with $60k pensions.

Excellent comments! It is kind of disappointing to see Mona Charen respond as Chuck Schumer or Nancy Pelosi would. Condeming everyone related to PSU before the smoke is cleared and the facts are known! The BOTs could have prevented the riot by delaying the announcement at least until after the last home game. The difference between the PSU protesters and OWS is at least PSU protesters could identify what injustice they were protesting.

The Community organizer is not dumb and nothing is an accident. He is doing exactly what the socialists and America haters wanted him to accomplish. Read Dinesh D'souza's "The Roots of Obama's Rage". You can predict every move, politically he follows in his drunken, womanizing, anti-colonial dad's steps. It is to destroy any virtue and prosperity in America. That book should be required reading by every Congress person and state legislator.

Actually it was after 1861 when Lincoln "the Great Centralizer" and his band of corrupt career politicians finally got their opportunity to implement their European style "Mercantilist" system. They established a Federal bank, printed Federal notes not backed by anything precious and destroyed most of the state chartered banks. Sounds very much like today's Democrats doesn't itjQuery152035656563977719985_1311556866394 Soros hates America more than the community organizer. His goal is to destroy the US currency and economy. His footprints are all over America, even if you don't see him!

I know plenty about retirees, I interact with them almost daily. 1. If you think all 54 million retirees drive even 500 miles/month you need to wake up from the dream you're having. You lose all credibility when you come to conclusions by projecting your assumptions across the entire population in your theory! You obviously know nothing about Economics. A decrease in demand very seldom causes an increase in prices. Sure, oil companies or any company will not lose profit because they will sell their products at a lower price rather than let inventory set around because of decreased demand! Evidently you haven't noticed that as OPEC nations notice a build up of their oil supplies they cut back production to maintain their desired...

Nice a true liberal/progressive trait...start calling names when your talking points are as far from reality as the East is from West! Reread point 1, more affordable housing as the market corrects itself...not living. Retirees are going to live in their houses that are paid for, no more mortgage! Item 2. check out upstate NY, my mom, mother in law, uncles and aunts, former HS teachers have huge property tax exemptions as Sr. citizens and veterans or their widows. check out NC, they give huge exemptions for Veterans. I've seen the tax bills my facts are straight. You need to stop writing nonsense to scare people.
