Even If Your Child Is Gay...

if it sounds like hate, then it is hate, conservatives hate gays.

I'm conservative and I have no issue with homosexuality whatsoever. I simply oppose changing the legal definition of marriage to include them. As to hate, liberals are perhaps THE most intolerant group in society. They claim to be compassionate and tolerant but after four years of daily posting and arm-wrestling with liberals, that notion is utterly false. They love only selective groups and tolerate only certain people. When it comes to conservatives and evangelical Christians, liberals express some of the most hateful, vicious feelings I've ever come across. So don't waste your time pretending lefties are compassionate or tolerant. Most are neither. They simply hate different groups.

cal, so why do you conservatives hate me?
Cambermeister Wrote: Mar 19, 2013 10:22 AM
What sort of person assumes everyone hates them?

I think most conservatives really hate no one. Most of them probably have a greater dislike for someone who makes blanket, false generalizations and refuses to use the "Shift" key than they have for gays.

chries, read the post by conservatives

who say they hate me, et al.
Chries Wrote: Mar 19, 2013 10:28 AM
Well, hate is probably too strong a word and too personal. But I can easily see how they hate your postings. You seem intent on polluting the thread with inanity and nonsense. If someone says they hate you, and you don't like it, you might try coming up with comments that demonstrate more thoughtfulness and more consideration for those who read and respond to comments on this site.

Refusing to willingly embrace your behavior and pat you on the head for it is NOT synonymous with hating you. Grow up. Think a little. Stop carrying this chip on your shoulder. Live your life. Enjoy it. Just stop expecting people to reward you for being gay.

I don't care if a man crossdresses but he needs to learn not to be offended when I laugh at him. I don't hate him, I just find his appearance to be bizarre. If he likes wigs and high heels, wear 'em. Just don't ask me to tell him how cool I think his "hobby" is when I don't.

Therein lies the rub. It's hard to post and reply in a direct, thoughtful way. It's much easier to attack, name call, and make assumptions than it is to try and understand the other person or make a valid case why your way or your idea is better. It's not a liberal thing. Far too many conservatives do the same thing and it drives me crazy because then we look just as ignorant as them.

Pissss off with your idiotic posts.

Hardly. Several posts on a message board are hardly emblematic of the entire mindset of 40% of the adult American population.

http://www.gallup.com/poll/152021/conservatives-remain-largest-ideological-group.aspx

Politics generates friction. The Left is ever on the move to tear down social constructs and replace them with something new. In an ideal world we would be like Mr. Spock, devoid of emotion and filled with logic alone. We live in a very real, very human world and people are passionate. Expression often takes on a harsh tone but that's not synonymous with hatred. Think first, then post.

m, says the consesrvative intellectual and moral elitist

Last week, Republican Senator Rob Portman of Ohio announced that he had reversed his position on same-sex marriage. The reason was that his son had come out to him and his wife as gay.

This is not the first such instance. Periodically, we hear about Republican politicians whose child announces that he or she is gay, prompting the parent to change his mind about the man-woman definition of marriage.

As a parent, I understand these parents. We love our children, and we want them to love us.

Nevertheless I differ with their decisions to support the redefinition...
