John, In 2002 I purchased a Honda Insight Hybrid which has been discontinued by Honda. Yes, they still produce an Insight, but it is far from the car I bought in 2002. The original Insight was a 3 cylinder all aluminum two seat car with plenty of room that could travel the interstates at 80 MPH comfortably. Oh yes, and gets 61 MPG. I have almost 100,000 miles on it. It is the perfect commuter car that I have driven coast to coast. If they were still making them, I would buy one in a minute. I paid $21,000 for it and they claimed they were loosing $4000 per car. So, for $25,000 + inflation you should be able to buy one today and provide a reasonable profit to Honda. The car is already tooled an the test of the design is complete.

There are a number of cars on the market that cost far less than $25 large and get hi 40's some even over 50 mpg. So with the 6 to 8 thousand dollars in savings . . . you could drive it for years for FREE ! ! !
Plus the Insite is a coffin on wheels . . . if I am going to drive a 2 seater . . . it will be a new Corvette.

A Congressional Budget Office report released in the fall tells Obama what the rest of us have known for some time: Your bet on electric cars wasn’t an investment, but a gamble; a dumb gamble.

And now you’ve just come up snake eyes.

“Despite the federal government pumping $7.5 billion into the electric vehicle industry in the United States through 2019,” writes the CSMonitor.com, “overall national gasoline consumption is unlikely to be significantly affected, according to a report released by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO).”

The CBO says that even if Obama increased the amount of the subsidy, it...
