As usual, when talking about anyone with even a possible hint of Libertarian sentiment, Ann sounds a little nutty. Couple this with her embarrassing adoration of turds like Christie and Romney in the past and she is quickly becoming irrelevant to me. It's a shame, because I've been an avid reader. Don't think I'll be buying her next book.
I would never consider staying home and not voting, and I would never vote for a Democrat. But don't tell me to vote for a sleazy RINO if there's a decent independent or libertarian on the ballot. I've heard that argument EVERY election cycle my whole life. Given the track record of the GOP in my lifetime, I don't find it to be a compelling argument anymore. The GOP had two chances to save us from the disaster that is Obama. And look who the Establishment christened: John McCain and Mitt Romney. The first guy is an unapologetic progressive and warmonger. The second guy wouldn't even fight for it. I am so done with the BS.
His name is Rand Paul. He's not a disaster. The knee-jerk Republicans who regurgitate the lies of the GOP Establishment are the real disaster. Thinking long and hard before we sacrifice our sons and daughters is called wisdom, not 'isolationism'. Given your ignorance, I'd be happy to see you stay home on election day.

Couldn't agree more with this column. Thanks, but no thanks.
Here it is again. The same argument. "We know the Republican Party has let you down and no longer stands for you. But please put your convictions aside and make sure they take control of Congress." Why? "Because the evil Democrats are even worse." Every election since Reagan, this has been the argument. "The Republicans are the lesser of two evils." I used to buy this, which is why I have to live with the fact that I actually voted for John McCain. How do I get that stain off my soul?
Seriously? "...grow up...and realize we are not always going to get our way"?? MY ENTIRE ADULT life I have voted Republican as the lesser of two evils. With the exception of Reagan, I have never actually voted FOR a Republican. I was always voting AGAINST a Democrat. And where has it gotten me? Every election cycle, people like Kurt say the same thing. "Don't vote your conscience. Don't vote for the best candidate. The Establishment Republican has to win or Armageddon will ensue." Don't support Ron Paul! McCain can win! ROFL How dirty did I feel after pulling the lever for that guy? After 30 years, my response is "Whatever."
