Do NOT under estimate threats from Labor Union types, although their hey day is over, many of them do not know it and will continue with tactics that they have had much success with. I really wish they would either accept an honest day's pay for an honest day's labor or join Jimmy Hoffa!
@pinenee Subjective response? Clearly, you have No idea how the constitution reads. The Amendments, just a select few, meet your needs very well. This nation was never intended to be a welfare state. Do I benefit from the status quo? Not really, the benefit to cost ratio is way to high on the cost side and I do not refer to just financial.
After the election I cried for the loss o f my country as I have known it since my youth and for my granddaughter and for the things of real value she will never know. I hope I am wrong but I fear we have passed the point of no return. This nation today bares no resemblance to what our forefathers gave us. We are only about 240 years old. Gibbon has sharpened his pencil and is already writing.
Next time let them wait for their union crews. It is truly regretable that someone running a mercy mission is insulted for their effort. i suppose it is a sign of the times. Sad to say it but true.

Each state is only allowed the same number of Electors as House Rep's. based on population. Any state that allows more than allowed is in violation of the US Constitution. See Article 1 Sections 2 and 3 and Article Ii Section 1. Also see Mi 168.47

The constitution is the supreme law of the land and no state can legally change it or any political for that matter. They are doing it, but it is not legal. Just for fun, check at your Secretary of State and see how many Electors your State had. My state is allowed 16, they had 80. This not an error, I have the copies and it is ludicrous .
Do you remember "bussing"?; how did that work out? I am from MIchigan and within the last few months the Governer had to threaten reduction of social benefits to make them send their children to school. Parents who value education send their children to school. More federal money will not solve the issue. For those who do not value education there is really no way to force them to learn and they fully entitled to the consequences of their actions.
My goodness, you do have quite a way with words. I am at a loss as to which to believe, the sentence comprised of the hyperlinks or the words in between.

The only change Amendment XII makes is that electors vote for the president and the Vice President separately instead of the Vice President being the first runner up of all votes counted. Mr. Bryant is correct also. In Michigan There eighty (80) electors on record for 2012; 16 for each party. All sworn to vote for a particular candidate. We are allowed only 16 total electors! How is that for constitutional?
