Humans don't have true canine teeth, but teeth types have nothing to do with diet. Gorillas have huge canine teeth, yet are vegetarian. Bears have many canine teeth, and while omnivores their diet is mostly plants. BTW, their interlocking pointed teeth make great sieves for removing berries from bushes.
