Watching my wife watch Ellen, I frequently comment, "That really wasn't funny." She then stops and agrees. You see, many people WANT to laugh. They are not really entertained so much as they follow the lead of the LAUGH TRACK, and think they have hear something funny. Summary. We have become people who REALLY don't think any more. We are sheeple. And has been indicated by this group honoring Tina Fey and Ellen, they are lying when they claim that it is about the talent and the "funny". It is not. YOu want REAL funny. Tim Conway and Red Skelton. I wish I had ALL of their stuff on DVD. I wouldn't need TV any more.
The PBS broadcast of the Kennedy Center's Mark Twain Prize on Oct. 30 was a festival of tributes to Ellen DeGeneres -- which is fine, since she is quite talented comically. But it wasn't so much a tribute for the comedy as it was for her pioneering work promoting homosexuality.
