Regardless of how Romney is running his campaign, the fact is that so-called "independent" voters are, most of the time, highly unreliable in the clutch. They are notorious for their fickleness, voting whichever way the wind blows at any given moment. A good deal of "independents" brought us to this abyss by casting their ballots for Obama in '08.

Republicans Questioning Mitt Romney The media has been pushing a narrative that conservatives and Republicans are wavering on their support of Mitt Romney based on the fact that he has had difficulty catching and passing Barack Obama in the polls.
