In 2008, if someone would have told me, "Look, Obama is a revolutionary. He's going to DESTROY the economy, make it worse, not better. He's going to destroy the constitution by doing a big powergrab with healthcare. He's going to limit the power of religious organizations by reaching his long, mandated arm into church affairs, He's going to deliberately push gas prices up.... I would've rolled my eyes and said, "Wow. Conspiracy theories." The problem: Obama is a walking, powerful, narcissistic, conspiracy theory waiting to happen.

During a panel discussion at the Conference on World Affairs in Colorado last April, a member of the audience rose to ask a tendentious political question, before adding that she was not interested in hearing a response from the only conservative on stage -- yours truly. I was a bit miffed by the close-minded slight until a fellow panelist, Arizona State Senator Kyrsten Sinema, pushed back on my behalf. The Democratic legislator slapped down the questioner's Lefty assumptions and waxed eloquent about the importance of bipartisanship.
