Every one of these statements is very controversial and in my opinion many have been proven to have negative effects rather then the positive effects mentioned here (such as item #1, thirty years of economic data has totally debunked this). However, I don't have the time to get into each on of them, so I'd just like to point out two particular statements. Item 17 says there will be no official state-run religion and people are welcome to practice whatever they want. And item 20 says that each day, kids at school will be forced (presumably by the state) to hear/say a prayer - effectively forcing religion down their throats. I wonder, would an Imam be allowed to say a prayer for Muslim children. Would a pagan priest be allowed?
Atheists would be protected under the "freedom of speech" part of the 1st Amendment. They would be protected to say whatever they wanted. The "freedom of religion" part of the 1st Amendment ensures that Christians, Muslims, Jews, Pagans, and anyone else are allowed to worship and practice in both public and private their religion.
All I can really say about this article is that it is purely opinion and heavily biased at that. I'm what most conservatives might call a liberal (or a socialist, depending on who I'm talking to) and I find all outcomes to be absurd. The only thing this article does is widen the divide of the political spectrum and make compromise and progress less likely to happen. For the record, I don't hate conservatives. I do hate John Hawkins.

While I do have other, more political, questions about this article, my internal need for historical accuracy outweighs my wish to argue with you for being wrong on the internet. So, I have to ask - on what basis do you call the Jewish people: "the oldest people on Earth"?

This story is filled with exaggeration, scare tactics and ignorance. Now I'm not a die-hard Obama fan but I think he's done as well as he could with the mess he inherited from Bush. I don't think the McCain/Palin ticket could have done any better. And Obama is 100x better then Romney/Ryan could ever be.
