I Repeat, You Cannot Win Afghan Hearts

Abdul4 Wrote: Jan 15, 2010 11:07 AM
Non-Moslems can never win the hearts and minds of Moslems because Moslems are instructed by Allah in the Koran to consider non-Moslems as subhuman enemies and to make war against them. There is no way that we can get Moslem Afghan army and police to kill Moslem Afghan Taliban to serve our interests.
From the Koran:
-- Surely the vilest of animals in Allah’s sight are those who disbelieve. (8.55)
--The unbelievers are your inveterate enemy. (4:101)
-- Mohammed is God's apostle. Those who follow him are ruthless to the unbelievers but merciful to one another. (48:29).
-- It is unlawful for a believer to kill another believer, accidents excepted. (4:92)
-- Believers, take neither the Jews nor the Christians for your...
I am so glad that you called attention to our national American motto: e pluribus unum. Al Gore may not know what it means (he once said that it means "out of one, many"), but the rest of us should know that it means "out of many, one", that is one nation out of many different groups. This is not a celebration of diversity, but quite the opposite. It is a celebration of American unity despite our diverse origins. It means that we overcome our diversity in order to become one nation. Diversity is, therefore, not something desirable, but something to be overcome on the way to becoming one nation. It is the values of our nation, as expressed in our Constitution and Declaration of Independence, which we must share in order to be one...

Was Tiger Sincere?

Abdul4 Wrote: Feb 23, 2010 8:16 AM
Why should anyone care about Tiger Woods' dalliances and his confession? The public is interested in him only because he plays golf so well. Without that, nobody would care. His private life belongs to him and his family. We should be concerned about our own private lives, not about his. He is not a moral model for the rest of us; he is a golf player.

Can We Succeed in Afghanistan?

Abdul4 Wrote: Aug 21, 2009 3:17 PM
How is it possible to analyze the situation in Afghanistan without even once mentioning the belief system of Islam which holds sway over the minds of the vast majority of Afghanis, and not only the Taliban? Even the non-Taliban Afghanis want Sharia law which denies equality for non-Moslems and for women, and a whole lot more. Do all of the learned analysts think that the religion/ideology which the Afghanis hold dear does not influence their behavior? Shouldn't our policies take that into account?

In Defense of “Islam on Capitol Hill”

Abdul4 Wrote: Sep 29, 2009 3:47 PM
Let us not be taken in by this "peaceful" Moslem pray-in on Capitol Hill. This was not a religious demonstration. If this were a matter of religion and freedom to pray, then the Moslems could have prayed as they usually do on Fridays -- in their mosques. No, this public gathering was purely political. It was organized under the slogan "Our Time Has Come". Time for what? Certainly not for prayer, because nobody has ever interfered with Moslem prayers. One of the organizers, Malik, has said "We do not want to democratize Islam; we want to Islamize democracy." The two main Koran readers on Capitol Hill were both graduates of Islamic universities with degrees in Shariah law. They were chosen because they support Shariah law and because the...

Pornography and You

Abdul4 Wrote: Sep 22, 2009 12:55 PM
The concern for our society because of widespread viewing of pornography is real. The dilemma is what to do about it in a society that is based on individual freedom, including freedom of speech. There is no easy solution. In fact, there may be no solution at all, except the unsatisfactory appeal to individuals not to engage in it.

A Losing Bet in Afghanistan

Abdul4 Wrote: Dec 17, 2009 1:25 AM
Of course, our enterprise in Afghanistan is a losing bet -- but not for the reasons most people think. Our policy is based on the utterly false notion that Islam is a religion of peace, such that, if we are nice to Moslems, they will be nice to us. Nothing could be further from the truth. Our policy requires winngin the hearts and minds of the Afghan Moslem population so that we get Moslem Afghan soldiers and Moslem Afghan police to kill Moslem Afghan Taliban for our infidel purposes. Well, it will not happen. It cannot happen. All religious Moslems are taught that Moslems are brothers to one another and that non-Moslems are the enemy. It says so in the Koran. Any policy that does not take into account the hold that Islam has over the...
